#AtoZChallenge 2015: U is for UNDECIDED #dogladysden Share on X
un·de·cid·ed
ˌəndəˈsīdəd/
adjective
(of a person) not having made a decision.
“the jury remained undecided”
synonyms: unresolved, uncertain, unsure, unclear, unsettled, indefinite, undetermined, unknown, in the balance, up in the air, debatable, arguable, moot, open to question, doubtful, dubious, borderline, ambiguous, vague; indecisive, irresolute, hesitant, tentative, wavering, vacillating, uncommitted, ambivalent, of two minds, torn, fence-sitting, on the fence; informal: iffy, wishy-washy
You get the gist, yes? You see, I ran out of pre-written posts some time ago and am now doing them on the fly. Being a “pantser” makes my OCD pedantic self a little nuts and I couldn’t make up my mind about which word to choose for the letter “U”. ACK!
A classic case of “analysis paralysis”. Tried several on for size, but they didn’t resonate: UBIQUITOUS, UNCTUOUS, UNEQUIVOCAL, even UNCOUTH. Meh……Is there a twelve-step program for this? “Hi, my name is Debbie. I’m undecided.”
Have you ever had this conversation with your mate? So familiar to me!
How about a little musical interlude?
Sorry folks. I got nuthin’. 😛
OH WELL…Try again tomorrow!
Have you ever been undecided about something?
Looking forward to your comments!

For a pantser, you pulled a good one out of the bag. Good post and I am not undecided about that.
It was a last-ditch, desperation move. LOL Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
LOL that video is hilarious! I share my home with a laid back man and he always says ‘whatever, wherever!’
I can relate, Kelly. Hubby never seems to have any preferences either and it’s sometimes a bit frustrating! 🙂
Now that’s what a call a free flow of thoughts- so what if you were undecided? It turned out so well 🙂
Yes, I had to improvise, but that’s okay, once in awhile. 😀 Thanks, Parul!
That’s a whole lot of something for nothing. I’m undecided about what to comment, so that will have to do for now – 🙂 P.s that video was soooooo annoying 🙂
Hahaha! Yes, the video definitely was annoying, but it’s a conversation I have with hubby a lot. 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
hahaha… Debbie, I SO loved this post as it was a lot of fun reading it, but more so that video and also ’cause I have been flying by the seat of my pants for almost if not all of these posts as I had none done prior! So now you know what it feels like! 😉 Also, I can be a pantser at times – worse in past – as firstly there are SO many choices, including words for these A to Z letters and in life in general – look at the grocery shelves for example! It’s ludicrous! That’ll make a pantser out of anyone I swear! 😉 <3
Yes, I do know what that feels like Elly, and it’s way out of my pedantic comfort zone! LOL
LOL! I totally get you, Debbie. “Undecided” is oftentimes a state of mind for me! I’m notorious for not being able to make decisions in restaurants: I’ll tell the waiter or waitress, “I’m thinking of this, this or this. Surprise me.” Most times they have made good decisions for me!
The word pantser is new to me. I’ve heard it a few times this month on other A-Z but never found as good of an explanation as the one you provided in the link so thanks for that! I get it now.
I’m a pantser in life, I think… 🙂
Love the cartoon video: Happens all the time!!
I’m generally very decisive, so this was an aberration for me, probably brought on by fatigue. 😛 You’re brave! I wouldn’t say “surprise me” in a restaurant or most anywhere else. I think this is the first time we’ve differed on something. LOL
“Pantser” and “Pedantic” don’t go too well together, so, not my preference. Yes, hubby and I do have that conversation a lot; going for Lebanese tonight. 🙂
Well, I only say “Surprise me” when I have already given them my top two or three choices so I know I can’t go wrong with what they bring me…
Lebanese sounds good. I had boring beef and barley soup for dinner. 🙂 Quick, easy: that’s me.
I’m all for easy, especially when it comes to cooking (not my favourite activity). 🙂
A 12 step program – that would be something! And yes, that conversation is familiar, but more about what to watch on TV than what to eat!
Yes, that conversation could apply to several subjects. LOL Luckily, hubby and and I like many of the same TV shows. 🙂
LOL. Debbie, that video was hilarious. Men!
Yes; we have this conversation a lot! 😛 Today we’re going Lebanese.
“I don’t want Chinese.” Ha! Love that video. Yes, I’ve had that conversation with my mate, my friends, my parents, and my brother.

LOL “Weird meat, side of rice”. It’s all the same….funny!
This is a common conversation. Hubby and I have decided on Lebanese today. 🙂
I can’t decide if this is one of my favorite posts in the series or not.
Very droll, Michael. 😀 I was tired and out of ideas. Doesn’t happen too often.
How about “That cartoon was uproarious with its monotones”? That’s why I was in such a quagmire the other day with ‘Q’.
It had to be computer-generated, Mary. You’re right – so monotonous! 😛 Glad you got out of the quagmire. 🙂
it’s the huge number of choices that often leaves me undecided. Specially when it comes to food 😀
Yes, that’s typical for many of us. Hubby and I have that silly conversation all the time. 😛
The Libra in me is forever tossing up some decisions. And then at other times I very decisive. I guess the scales must balance.
Yes, it depends on the day and the mood, for me as well. 🙂
oh i can so relate to this … So many competitors for my letters-and soooo
hard to decide
Yes, plus I was really tired! 😛 It’s a long haul, this challenge, but the good news is, it’s almost finished. 🙂
I experienced more than a little rueful recognition with this one; however, of course, I couldn’t decide whether or not to share my indecision—-wait, that starts with an “i”. I’m undecided about whether to say anything else, so I guess I’ll go cogitate on that predicament for awhile. 🙂 (The scary thing is that in my family of origin, I was the most decisive—so I come by my predilection for hemming and hawing honestly.)
LMAO! Great comment, Suzanne and so befitting. 😀 Sometimes, I just lack inspiration, so I improvise. 😉
Thanks for visiting!
I’m probably still undecided about some things.
