#AtoZChallenge, U is for UNDECIDED

You get the gist, yes? You see, I ran out of pre-written posts some time ago and am now doing them on the fly. Being a “pantser” makes my OCD pedantic self a little nuts and I couldn’t make up my mind about which word to choose for the letter “U”. ACK!

A classic case of “analysis paralysis”. Tried several on for size, but they didn’t resonate: UBIQUITOUS, UNCTUOUS, UNEQUIVOCAL, even UNCOUTH. Meh……Is there a twelve-step program for this? “Hi, my name is Debbie. I’m undecided.”

Have you ever had this conversation with your mate? So familiar to me!

How about a little musical interlude?

Sorry folks. I got nuthin’. 😛
OH WELL…Try again tomorrow!

Have you ever been undecided about something?

Looking forward to your comments!

Debbie

  1. That’s a whole lot of something for nothing. I’m undecided about what to comment, so that will have to do for now – 🙂 P.s that video was soooooo annoying 🙂

  2. hahaha… Debbie, I SO loved this post as it was a lot of fun reading it, but more so that video and also ’cause I have been flying by the seat of my pants for almost if not all of these posts as I had none done prior! So now you know what it feels like! 😉 Also, I can be a pantser at times – worse in past – as firstly there are SO many choices, including words for these A to Z letters and in life in general – look at the grocery shelves for example! It’s ludicrous! That’ll make a pantser out of anyone I swear! 😉 <3

  3. LOL! I totally get you, Debbie. “Undecided” is oftentimes a state of mind for me! I’m notorious for not being able to make decisions in restaurants: I’ll tell the waiter or waitress, “I’m thinking of this, this or this. Surprise me.” Most times they have made good decisions for me!
The word pantser is new to me. I’ve heard it a few times this month on other A-Z but never found as good of an explanation as the one you provided in the link so thanks for that! I get it now.
    I’m a pantser in life, I think… 🙂
Love the cartoon video: Happens all the time!!

    1. I’m generally very decisive, so this was an aberration for me, probably brought on by fatigue. 😛 You’re brave! I wouldn’t say “surprise me” in a restaurant or most anywhere else. I think this is the first time we’ve differed on something. LOL
“Pantser” and “Pedantic” don’t go too well together, so, not my preference. Yes, hubby and I do have that conversation a lot; going for Lebanese tonight. 🙂

      1. Well, I only say “Surprise me” when I have already given them my top two or three choices so I know I can’t go wrong with what they bring me…
Lebanese sounds good. I had boring beef and barley soup for dinner. 🙂 Quick, easy: that’s me.

  4. A 12 step program – that would be something! And yes, that conversation is familiar, but more about what to watch on TV than what to eat!

    1. LOL “Weird meat, side of rice”. It’s all the same….funny!
This is a common conversation. Hubby and I have decided on Lebanese today. 🙂

  5. The Libra in me is forever tossing up some decisions. And then at other times I very decisive. I guess the scales must balance.

  6. I experienced more than a little rueful recognition with this one; however, of course, I couldn’t decide whether or not to share my indecision—-wait, that starts with an “i”. I’m undecided about whether to say anything else, so I guess I’ll go cogitate on that predicament for awhile. 🙂 (The scary thing is that in my family of origin, I was the most decisive—so I come by my predilection for hemming and hawing honestly.)
