BLUES ROCK, #MusicMonday

Welcome to

Music Monday

This week’s feature is another long-time favourite,

my fellow Canadian,

Neil Young

Neil first shot to fame as a founding member of 60s band, Buffalo Springfield:

When Buffalo Springfield broke up, Neil went out on his own and also formed a new band, Crazy Horse:

In 1969, Neil hooked up with Crosby, Stills & Nash.
He insisted on full billing,
so they became Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young:

Continuing on with his solo career, Neil produced many hits over the years,
including this timeless Rock Anthem:

In 2012, Neil reunited with his old band Crazy Horse, to produce two albums.
The first, entitled “Americana”, put a new spin on old American folk songs.

The second was a concept album, “Psychedelic Pill”:

I was fortunate enough to score tickets to his show last November.  Another one crossed off the Concert Bucket List.
His energy and enthusiasm belied his age, (68), and we had a fantastic time!

  2. I love Neil Young! He is a true classic. I recently listened to his double album “Decade” and was reminded again how great his songs are, and what a wonderful rock voice he has! Thanks for this post.

    1. He is amazing, although I have to say, his voice doesn’t thrill me. His music sure does, though! ♥ That concert was one of the highlights of my concert-going life. Thanks for visiting, Elaine. 🙂

  3. Haven’t heard any Neil Young’s songs before so all new to me. Thanks for sharing & Happy Music Monday x

  4. You picked some awesome music! Haven’t heard these songs in a long time. It’s good to have a place I can come and listen to these great hits!

Thanks for sharing these Debbie, have a great day and wonderful week!

  5. Never been much of a Neil Young fan…However, being a native ‘Buckeye’ and a peace-loving hippie of the sixties, I was always very fond of–and very troubled by “Ohio”! And thanks for the Pinterest pin-up! You rock!

    1. Hi Loy; Thanks for visiting, even if Neil isn’t your taste. He’s an icon around here. 🙂 Yes, “Ohio” was a troubling, but good song. Have a great week!
