Friday once again and time for some fill-in fun.
For those who are celebrating:
Happy Passover, Happy Easter, Happy Holi!
Weekly questions and blog hop brought to you by
Hilary at Feeling Beachie
This week’s co-host: Beth Ann at It’s Just Life
The premise is simple; just fill in the blanks.
This week’s statements:
1. My favourite advice to give is ____
2. A few years ago I stopped ____
3. The weather around me _____________ tends to lend itself to ____________.
4. 2013 is both __________ and ___________.
Answers:
1. My favourite advice to give is: “Don’t take shit from anyone and don’t worry about what others think.” This was a lesson learned the hard way, from being bullied as a child. Another favourite bit of advice: “Whatever doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”.
2. A few years ago I stopped smoking, after almost 40 years; the last 20 at a pace of a carton a week. What a relief it is, to be free of that insidious habit!
3. The weather around me generally tends to lend itself to determining how pleasant or unpleasant my day will be. When you’re dealing with dogs, you are always at the mercy of the elements. My ideal day would be 72F, (22C), sunny and no humidity. Yeah – right! This is Canada. LOL
4. 2013 is both significant and exciting! We will be marking our 40th anniversary in August and celebrating by taking a month-long trip to Europe in Sept.

Happy anniversary. Enjoy your trip. Also, you’ve offered some good advice, although it’s sometimes easier said than done. Congrats on quitting smoking. That’s awesome!
Thank you, Joyce. 🙂 This will be our greatest trip ever, I hope! Have a good weekend.

Great advices, Debbie! And congrats – both on quitting smoking and your wedding anniversary. A whole month in Europe in beautiful September – you will have a great time. You have to tell us about it and share photos 🙂
Hi Claudia; Thanks for the good wishes. 🙂 Yes, I will be taking lots of pictures and making a few blog posts after the trip. Have a great weekend!
Hey Debbie, I’m also a reformed smoker–and I got such a kick out of the ‘Smoke’ song! An oldie but goodie! Enjoy your weekend!
Hi Loy; That song always makes me smile, too. Congratulations on quitting! I know how hard that is to do. Have a great weekend. 🙂
It sure is a big year for you. Hope the trip is everything you wish and more. I stopped smoking a little more than 3 years ago and I’m so, so glad I haven’t started back up – even when the urge is there sometimes. 🙂
Hi Susi; Congratulations on quitting smoking! I know how hard that is to do. Thanks for the good wishes. Have a great weekend. 🙂
We must be about the same age as D H and I will celebrate 40 years of marriage at the end of June and we are taking a cruise around NOrway, Scotland and Ireland for our trip. Have a Happy Easter!
That sounds like a wonderful trip as well, Judy. I’m 58 and hubby will be 63 in June. We got married young. Thanks for visiting and Happy Easter to you, too! 🙂
a month long trip to europe!!!! WOW!!
Hi Jen; Yes; it’s the trip of our dreams. Re-visiting hubby’s birthplace, (Italy), and mine, (Germany), plus a two week tour of Greece! That is #1 on my bucket list and I’m soooo excited!! Thanks for visiting.
Great answers! Congrats on the 40th anniversary–that is wonderful!!! And what a great thing you did to quit smoking after all those years!!! Good on ya!
Thanks, Beth Ann! 🙂 Quitting smoking was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend.
