ANNOUNCING THE GREAT THEME REVEAL! #AtoZChallenge #AtoZReveal

80 Comments#AtoZChallenge 2014, Blogfests, Writing/Blogging

A-to-Z Theme RevealThis is my very first A to Z Challenge experience and I’m both excited and apprehensive about it. Originally, I didn’t want to restrict my options with a theme, but in the end, it seemed like a good plan.

Even more fun to join the Blogfest here, as explained by Vidya Sury. Over 200 entries; isn’t that great?  Had no clue this was such a popular idea! Just FYI, I was a little late in joining, so my blog link sits at #110.

Clicking on the badge takes you to the complete list of participants.  It’s a social event, so please visit as many as you can, add comments and share on your various networks.  Enjoy

When it came to actually pick a theme, there was a topic still fresh in my mind, so I chose that.
Would you like a hint? 😀

~~~~~drumroll~~~~~
*** TRAVEL AND CULTURE ***
It’s been my great fortune to have travelled extensively over the years and I’d like to share some of those experiences with you. Our most recent trip was a month-long jaunt through Europe, in celebration of our 40th Anniversary.
  1. Great theme, Debbie. I don’t get to travel much, so it will be fun to live vicariously through your posts for awhile. I’ll be reading them with Paulie, my Great Pyrenees (155 lbs of white furry love) at my side. Good luck!
    1. Welcome to The Den, Amanda! 😀 Glad you like the theme. Paulie sounds adorable; I love Great Pyrenees. had a client once with two of them. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend.
  2. What a great theme, two of my very favorite things! So look forward to following along with your adventures!:-)
  3. Hi Debbie!
    Sorry it’s taken so long for me to get out here. My pregnant daughter is due any day and she’s been staying with us since she’s been feeling sick.
    Anyway….I love the topic you chose, it’s perfect for you! I can’t wait to read the post and most of all look at the beautiful pictures you share!
    Wishing you a great challenge!
    Cori
    1. Hi Cori; Congratulations to your daughter and to you, Grandma! 🙂 This topic was a no brainer for me, for sure. I only hope I can finish the challenge; pretty daunting! Thanks for visiting and I hope your daughter feels better.
  4. What a wonderful theme! I look forward to some colourful posts here about peoples, places and pearls of wisdom from various cultures and ways of life.
    All the best!
  5. Excellent choice for an A-to-Z theme, Debbie, and right up my alley–my other (non-dog) blog is (mostly) about cultural clashes, so I\’ll be a frequent visitor (and commenter) on your April posts 🙂 Thanks for stopping over at Life In Dogs earlier, and for the super sweet comment–much, much appreciated 🙂
    1. Hi Guilie; Glad you like the subject matter. I have much to choose from there, so it was an easy decision for me. 🙂 Good luck with the challenge. Can’t imagine having two blogs! You must be well-organized. Cheers!
    1. Welcome to The Den, Suganda! 🙂 Yes, travel is one of my biggest passions. Glad you like this subject. Thanks for visiting and good luck with the challenge.
  6. That’s a great theme Debbie…looking forward to reading about different places in the world… 🙂
  7. I’ve done A-Z every year for the past three years. It’s a lot of fun. Congrats on revealing a theme. I’ve never had a theme.
    1. Hi Joyce; I was debating whether to use a theme or not. It just seemed a little easier. I’m still overwhelmed at the thought of this! 🙂 Thanks for visiting and have a good time with the challenge.
  8. I wish you the best of luck on your first A-Z Challenge Debbie. This is my 3rd and I cannot tell you how busy but completely amazing it all is. I am looking forward to reading about your travels and 40 years wow, Congratulations!
  9. Looking forward to reading your travel posts, Debbie. I’m debating joining as I haven’t blogged much lately and this would be the kickstart I need. I like challenges such as these for getting me writing regularly.
    1. Hi Cat! 🙂 Glad you like the theme. There’s still time to sign up, if you want to go for it! Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend. Spring has been delayed, it seems. 😛
    1. Glad you like the idea, Vidya! 🙂 I have over 50 years worth of memories to draw from, so this theme was an easy choice. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend.
  10. Looking forward to the A to Z Challenge and visiting other bloggers.
    I’m going to wing it…I know what I’ll be blogging the first two letters in the alphabet.
    Coffee is on
    1. Hi Dora and welcome to The Den. 🙂 I was going to wing it originally. but I find the theme idea a little bit easier to pick subject matter. Thanks for visiting and have fun with the challenge!
  11. Pretty sure I learned about this thing here, first, early this morning. Then dove straight down the rabbit hole and forgot to leave breadcrumbs.
    As you see, I just posted mine – but I’m pretty sure I was sitting on THIS post, this morning, over coffee.
    I like your theme and I’m looking forward to reading more!
    1. I saw and am in awe of your ability to make such quick posts! Glad you like the theme. Travel is one of my biggest passions and writing about it comes naturally. See you in the trenches. 🙂
  12. With over 1400 entries now, your blog is pretty high on the list. Looking forward to reading your posts on travel and culture.
  13. 26 destinations is quite incredible. Some people never venture across their state lines let alone borders. I\’m not sure I could come up with that many, it will be interesting to see where your travels take us 🙂
    There is some sort of timer that stops me from posting a comment – first for adding a link in the comment and then for not spending enough time on the site after it refreshed.
    1. Hello Ida; Sorry about that, but those are anti-spam measures. Also, the site has been flaky today. Hope it’s fixed now. I won’t be doing 1 post = 1 destination, necessarily, but some are like that. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend. 🙂
  14. What a great theme. I’d love to do some traveling, but it’s not in the cards right now. Can’t wait to go vicariously through your posts!
    1. Hi Ava; Most of my travelling is behind me now, unless I win the lottery or something. LOL Thanks for visiting and I’m looking forward to your posts, as well. 🙂
  15. Sounds really interesting Debbie, good luck with the Theme and your future posts about your travels. I’ll be clicking to follow the link you’ve provided as soon as I’ve posted this comment. 😀 Have a great weekend and bye for now… xPenx
  16. Happy anniversary and what a lovely topic…travel and culture. Look forward to reading your posts.
    1. Hi Sulekha; I can’t access your site for some reason, but thanks for dropping by. Will try to find you through the AtoZ Facebook group.
  17. Hi – I visited because you are listed near me on the Theme Reveal, and I am also a new blogger and new to A-Z Challenge! Your theme sounds very enticing; I look forward to seeing where you’ve traveled. See you in April!
    1. Hi Sammy; This is my first year for the A to Z Challenge as well. Thanks for visiting and I look forward to your posts. Good luck! 🙂
  18. Wow! Looking forward to some wonderful e-travel. I love travelling and dabbled with this topic for a while. Finally I settled to blog on something else. What? That I am not saying, you’ll just have to visit my blog to find out! 🙂 Good Luck.
  19. Debbie, I love your theme and if I could I would travel, soak in cultures, colours and food 🙂 most of the year. All the best.
  20. I adore your theme! Looking forward to know about the places you travelled to and the culture you basked in! This will be fun!
  21. Sounds fantastic, Debbie, and I like it very much. One question though…is that calamari? If so, that’s just not right to tease me like that. You’re going to do fantastic with this theme.
    1. Hi Mike; Yes, that is calamari, one of my favourite foods. 🙂 It’s served in many parts of the world and my C post is dedicated to it. Thanks for the encouragement!
    1. Yes; it was in celebration of our 40th anniversary. Hubby and I were both born in Europe and we visited our birthplaces too. Great memories! 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
    1. Thanks Corinne; I’m trying to get all the posts written in advance but it’s hard to find the time. Should be a wild ride! 🙂 Thanks for visiting!
