WINTER SUNSET | #SkywatchFriday

Welcome to Skywatch Friday!

SkywatchFriday

Skywatch is a weekly meme, hosted by Yogi♪♪♪ at the Skywatch Friday blog.

It is available from Thursday 2:30 pm (EST), 19:30 (GMT) every week until the next Thursday at 10 am (EST),  15:30 (GMT).

The idea is to post your own photographs of the sky – anything from sunsets/sunrises to using it as a backdrop.

Although the waning winter sun provides no warmth, it does lift the spirits! ☀️😎

And in the east, the sky is pink, which bodes well for tomorrow. 👌

  1. I definitely love sunsets. Sunrises seem to have a lot more color to them but this time of year I am not outside when the sun rises. I love how you got both sides of the sunset. Not too many people know to look back after they have shot the sunset.
I just followed you on instagram. I’m yogiab

    1. Welcome to The Den, Alan! I’m almost never outside when the sun rises, so, you’re one up on me. 🙂 All aspects of sunsets are truly fascinating. Pink skies are cool and so is the blue hour. Thanks for the Instagram follow. I have done the same. Cheers!

  2. Debbie,

I agree the winter sunsets don’t warm ya but it sure does make the spirit feel happier. I always enjoy seeing those cotton candy early evening clouds as the sun begins its descent over the horizon. It’s so pretty! Your winter sunset shots are really nice.

  3. Such picture-postcard-perfect captures, Debbie!
I love both sunrise and sunsets. While the former is all about new beginnings and energy. There’s peace and calm and hope at sunsets!

    1. Hahaha! Join the club, Chris. Winter truly sucks, especially now that we have a ton of snow and record-breaking cold temperatures. Even the dogs don’t like it.

  4. I love both, sunrise and sunset. I can view the sunrise from my kitchen window. And it is the most beautiful sight to begin the day with. And, I also see the sunset when I go for my evening walks. The setting sun looks like this huge fire ball, about to take a dip in the ocean. I can’t see any ocean, of course, but that’s how I feel! And, the sky, just after the sun has set, is a pretty sight to end the day with! 🙂
I loved both the pictures you shared here.

    1. How nice to see the sunrise from your window! 😀 I love your description of the sunset, Shilpa! It does look like a fire ball. Thanks for coming by. Glad you enjoyed the photos!

  5. We always appreciate it when the sun makes an appearance. We have been getting rain a lot this winter and more is in the forecast for the weekend. Your photos were very pleasant to see. Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful weekend.

    1. Welcome to The Den, Bill! 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. We have tons of snow, here. 😛 Either way, winter is something most of us are happy to see the end of. Thanks for dropping in!

  6. I agree that the sun lifts the spirits. It sure does for me.

I’m so happy I’m able to post a comment. Thank you.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

    1. Hi Sandee; There’s never enough sun in the winter, so it sure is welcome when it does appear. Did you have trouble trying to comment before? Sorry if there was a technical problem! Please let me know what it was and I’ll investigate. Thanks for coming by and have a good weekend.
