TIME FOR A SHORT BREAK. SEE YOU SOON!

The signs are all there. Internet fatigue has set in and I need a little break from social media and the Blogosphere. It started with my personal Facebook account, but then I realized I was bereft of ideas for The Den this week. Or, to be more precise, there was no desire to complete any of the drafts in the folder. No worries, this too shall pass. It always does!

time to unplug - taking a break

Hubby and I will be taking a three day road trip at the end of the week, in celebration of his 65th birthday. Time to get out of town and make some new memories! Stay tuned for the requisite travel post. 🙂 In addition, there’s socializing with friends and chores to catch up on, maybe get back to reading an actual hard cover book. (My nightstand is piled high with them.) Our summers are short, so spending more time outdoors is also appealing.

In the meantime, automated posts to Twitter and The Doglady’s Den Facebook page will continue, along with Battle of The Bands entries. Some links to content you might enjoy:

  1. Hi Debbie,

Good for you for taking care of you and giving yourself a break. I hope you enjoy your time with the summer weather and your trip. Cherish those memories while you build them. I am so happy you are finding a good balance between online and offline. I too am working on that so that I can become stronger with my health. Have a great time while you are off.

    Irish

    1. Nice to see you, Irish. It is hard to find balance and I spend far too much time online, it seems. 🙂 That said, this was a short break, but I’ll probably post less frequently over the summer. Take care of yourself and I wish you good health!

  2. Enjoy your time off and your trip with your husband, Debbie. Take care of yourself and happy birthday to your husband. We’ll wait for you! 🙂

  3. Good for you for taking a break–much needed every now and then 🙂 Enjoy your time off, and we’ll see you back soon. (And happy 65th to your hubby!)

  4. Have fun on your break! We’re hopefully going on a weekend trip here soon, hope yours is fun! Would love to go camping, but probably won’t.

    1. Thanks, Madilyn. 🙂 It rained heavily all weekend, so that literally put a damper on things, but it was still nice to get away. Hope you have a lovely getaway.

  5. Happy birthday to your husband! Have a nice break. I’m enjoying mine though I’ve been able to be on line quite a bit so far. So you when you get back.

    Lee

    1. Thank you, Lee. It was a short break and our weekend was very soggy – rained heavily the whole time. 😛 Oh well, still nice to get away.

  6. Hey Debbie. I know all too well what it’s like to need a break! Enjoy yours. We’ll be here when you get back. Have a great trip. I know you can’t help but have fun! You were born with the fun gene! 🙂 Safe travels…

    1. Thanks, Michele. 🙂 Unfortunately, it rained heavily the whole weekend, with high winds, so our activities were curtailed. Well, at least we had some Prosecco and the hotel room was comfy.

  7. Enjoy your break. I hope you have a good trip.
Digital books are very convenient, but sometimes only the feel and smell of a “real” one will do!

  8. I hope you enjoy your time of Debbie, no doubt you will though. 😉 Party like a rock start girly! We’ll be here when you get back!

    1. Thanks, Bren. We did have a little Prosecco. 🙂 Sadly, the weather was bad, so our weekend didn’t go as planned. Still nice to get away, though.

  9. Debbie, enjoy your time off, I took some off last week and it’s hard getting back on the grid 🙂 But it is needed to get back your creativity I believe. Have a great trip and I hope your hubby enjoys his birthday!

    1. Thanks, Lisa. The weekend was hampered by bad weather, but it was still nice to get away. I agree – a break is necessary sometimes. Hope you enjoyed yours.

  10. It’s all about the break, the break the break,… no trouble!
You will be missed, but it’s good to know you are doing something good for yourself and Hubby. Have a wonderful trip Debbie! Bon Voyage!

    1. Thanks, Angelika. Our weekend getaway was literally a washout! 🙁 Heavy rain and winds hampered our activities, but we made the best of it. The hotel room was very comfortable.

  11. Will be missing you. I tried to post that and it says that my comment is not long enough — then it said I was not on your site long enough. Do you have little people watching me? Have a great summer — don’t stay away too long.

    1. Hahaha! That’s the spam detector, Carol. 🙂 The criteria is a minimum of 6 words and 30 seconds, to be considered a legitimate comment.
