  1. I find it cool/neat that you’ve lived in Germany and Switzerland for awhile Debbie and that you’ve travelled to various parts of Europe: no wonder you love the food you do! 😉 I hope you get to travel to the other places you mention. It’s great to get to know a little bit more about you Deb! 🙂 <3

    1. I enjoyed living and travelling in Europe very much, Elly. Lucky me that my father was in the army and met my mother in Germany. So basically, an accident of birth. 🙂 Having a husband from Italy doesn’t hurt either, since his immediate family still lives there. Egypt will probably never happen, but the others are still a possibility, as long as we don’t get too old and infirm. 😉
Thanks for choosing me to do this fun questionnaire. Sorry it took so long. Cheers!

  2. I love lists! This is great! I’ve never heard of any of the movies you’ve listed, but YUM to calamari & shrimp and I’m super jealous about your traveling and places you’ve been D:

    1. Nice to see another seafood lover. 🙂 Much of the travelling was by accident of birth; having a father in the military and a mother from a different continent. The travel bug bit me early in life – first trip was at nine months old from Germany to Canada – and I’ve been doing it ever since. Thanks for dropping in, Madilyn

      1. Wow! I guess that would make the travel bug bite early! I’ve only ever lived in two states and have never been out of the United States, though I want to. My little brother beat me on that 🙁

  3. Hi Deb, I commented on Elly’s post too. What a great way to learn more about your readers. I’m fairly new at blogging, so I can’t say I’ve ever answered questions like that. Do you have outdoor movies where you live? It’s a big fad over here in Germany. We go to those a lot.. the visitors sit in garden chairs and stuff themselves with food. They usually have live jazz playing in the intermissions. Actually that’s the best part of it all…the food and the music. lol

    1. Yes, these blog tags are fun and informative. Thanks for visiting Elly’s blog as well. 🙂 The only outdoor movies we have are the few drive-ins that are left. Most of them closed long ago, but there’s still one in town. No live music though – just ads and junk food at the snack bar.

  4. Love your list and love that “Grand Hotel” is on it. I still have to see “Slap Shot” and my brother and I were just talking about that film. I loved Venice and would go back in a heartbeat. I would love to live in Austria and would love to visit my Aunt who lives in Brixen (Bressonnone) -spelling?? I will not eat the same game but I love calamari and the German yeast cakes. My mom made them and I have the recipe to make it with cherries and the German plums. She would have custard on top as well. My other favourite is Bienenstich

    1. “Grand Hotel” is one of my favourite classic movies, among many others. 🙂 “Slap Shot” is hilarious, especially if you’re a hockey fan, but even if you’re not. I’m dying to go to Venice! It’s been on my bucket list for years, but we never made it in three trips to Italy. (Hubby was born in southern Italy.) Next time, for sure! Interesting that you mentioned Austria, Birgit. My next #MusicalMemories post will feature it. Had family there, myself. Brixen (Bressanone) is in northern Italy, yes? (Confusing as the area is called “Süd Tyrol”. There’s also an Austrian town by that name.) That would be another fantastic place to go!
Pflaumenkuchen und Bienenstich – lecker! 😀 Thanks for visiting.

  5. Once again, it appears we have much in common, Shady. 🙂 Thanks for your responses to the questions. Sorry you and Mrs, Shady are both plagued by sleep issues as well. I will be following up on the “Sleep Study” article in the next few weeks. This is going to be another great concert! We saw Scorpions a few years ago (with Cinderella as the opening act – good stuff!). They are excellent showmen and haven’t slowed down a bit. Never saw Queensrÿche before, so that will be memorable too. Road trips are such fun, yes? Cheers!

  6. This was interesting and informative, Debbie… I have only lived up and down a hundred mile stretch of highway, in West Tennessee. I have never felt the urge to roam. You like to get around. You are a premiere globe trotter. 🙂

    1. Hi Myke; Travelling is one of my biggest passions and I’ve been doing it since the age of 9 months (first trip from Germany to Canada). It’s “in the blood”, as they say! We’re all different though, and as long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the post.

  7. Fun relay! I love getting to know more about you. When you lived in the US, where did you live? I don’t think I knew that about you! Road trips are always fun! Have a blast on yours, wherever you go…

    1. Hi Michele; Do you want to play, too? Feel free! 🙂 My parents moved to San Diego, California in 1974. I’ve been there frequently and moved in with them for several weeks, multiple times (longest stay was 10 weeks), starting in 2010 when my father got sick. Between then and 2014, I made 11 trips back and forth. Not done yet, as my mother still lives there. I’m practically a native, by now.

        1. It’s a real paradise and has the “perfect” climate, IMO. Almost always sunny and warm, but rarely humid. Hope they get more rain soon, though. It’s never enough and there’s a severe drought going on.

          1. Austin has been in a severe drought for years so I know what the earth’s thirst for water is all about. But this year, because of El Nino, we’ve had an amazing spring and summer so far. Temps are way lower than normal so that’s a welcome relief. And we’ve had almost constant breezes. I was just thinking yesterday that this must be what it feels like to live in California. The breezes have been magnificent. I just hope we don’t get crushed in the coming weeks during the “dog days of summer”…

            1. I remember you had a lot of rain not too long ago and there was flooding in some places. Here’s hoping the milder weather will continue for you and not get too hot.

  8. I did thus one quite awhile ago. I see that we like the same T V shows which I watch relegliously except for the Voice – that one bothers me – LOL

    1. Hi Carol; I think The Voice has a high calibre of talent, but sometimes the silly banter is grating and only once did my favourite win this show. 😛

    1. I probably did too, Lee, but certainly not consciously. (Sneaky in-laws!) Lamb, rabbit and game have unmistakeable odours, so to avoid them is a bit easier. Thanks for dropping by. Hope you’re having a nice vacation. 🙂

  9. What a fun question quiz for Monday Musings, Deb er Doglady er Mama er Bit…OOPS

Enjoyed your answers sprinkled with fun graphics and links. I always enjoy getting to know people a bit better in these quiz thingies. You are such a fun gal and I appreciate your honesty about things. Maybe I’ll try this quiz, too.

    1. It’s okay – you can say the “B” word, Cat. 😉 I saw your post as well. It is fun to learn more about our online friends. Thanks for visiting.

    1. These tags go ’round and ’round it seems. 🙂 Yours had some more interesting questions, though. Not a seafood lover, I see; the opposite of me. Thanks for sharing your link, Shilpa. It’s nice to learn more about you, as well.
