I’ve had this photo essay, lingering unfinished in drafts for months, so it’s out of season. Since I’m lacking inspiration these days, I thought it would be good to publish something, at least.
It was a beautiful, summer-like day in early October, when I headed out on a whim, camera in hand, with hubby and pooch along for the ride.

First stop, one block to the south, is a short street, with creations by the same artist at each end:
A hand-crafted Little Library on the east corner and a full-size wall mural, entitled Take Me Higher on the west corner.
Three blocks further south, you could stop in at the Poop Café. But would you want to? 😀 Well, they survived the Pandemic! Their specialties are desserts, bubble teas, milkshakes, etc., and the poop-themed decor makes it fun for kids.
Continuing south (about two blocks), you’ll discover a lovely little park, complete with a chessboard and benches, carved in stone:
Heading two more blocks south, then turning eastward, brings you to a midtown harbour bridge (one of two).
NORTH SIDE Bridge View:
SOUTH SIDE Bridge View:
Walking south again, under the bridge, you’ll find Shipyard Park, complete with a rustic log cabin, built in 1810. It was restored and moved from its original location, 5 kms (3 miles) to the north.
Back on the bridge, and going east for three blocks, you’ll arrive at the Town Square, all decked out for fall. Plenty of places to rest:
That concludes our tour. Thanks for coming along! Before you go, check this out: 😎
Yup! I’ll be returning to this fun musical blogfest, posting once a month on the 1st.
And, I’ve designed a new site on Blogger exclusively for that!

Such beautiful photographs! Thank you for taking me on your walk. Loved it! Congrats on the Battle of the Bands, going over to check it out.
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, Renée. 🙂 The photography muse has usurped the writing muse for the time being. I missed doing those monthly band battles and had fun designing the new site for them. Thanks for checking it out! Better yet, join the fun and cast a vote. Cheers!
Thank you for sharing your tour and beautiful photos. Hooray for your return to BOTB. I’m checking out your new site.
I’m glad you enjoyed the tour, Eugenia. Thanks for visiting my new BOTB blog site, as well. Looking forward to March 1st! 🙂
Outstanding photos, Debbie! What a wonderful place to stroll around in.
See you at BOTB!
Thank you, diedre! 🙂 This town is quite photogenic. Yes, I’m psyched about BOTB! 😀
Your photos make me want to visit.
Love,
Janie
I’d love for you to come visit, Janie! 🙂 But, wait until spring, at least. Seriously crappy weather at the moment. 😛
These pics are great! I love the mural which is so pretty. The log cabin is pretty cool and reminds me of my dad who grew up in one. I dont yhonk it looked as good as this one. Nice to see all the fall colours since today it’s so crappy out.
Thanks, Birgit. 🙂 Lots of great photo ops around town! It is nice to see some green in the depths of winter. I hope the storm wasn’t too bad down your way.
It looks like a lovely town, even with a ‘Poop Cafe’!
Best wishes, Pete.
The Poop Café makes it all the more interesting, Pete. 🙂 Thanks for coming by.
What a lovely walk about. I love all the boats the very best. No surprise there.
Have a fabulous day and rest of the week, Debbie. Big hug. ♥
HI Sandee, I thought you might enjoy those harbour views. 🙂 Thanks for coming by.
I love everything about the walk through town last fall. The art, the natural beauty, the fun, the history–you’ve got it all. What a beautiful place. All that AND a poop cafe!
Thanks, Becky! We do enjoy living here. The Poop Café is a fun eccentricity. 😀
Hi Debbie – what a lovely walk around town … loved it. So many directions you can take and enjoy the views … it looks lovely and hope you can let us have some views in Spring and again in Summer? Cheers Hilary
I’m glad you enjoyed the stroll, Hilary. 🙂 This is a lovely area, three seasons out of four, so there will definitely be more photos.
Those are beautiful photos. Poop café is the funniest café name I’ve come across. I would hesitate to go in but I’ll bet young kids love it.
Thanks so much, Thomas! 🙂 I’ve never been inside the Poop Café, but it seems to do pretty good business.
