  1. thanks for visiting my site. I would be thrilled if you’d write a guest blog post for my site. If you think it might be fun or helpful to have my followers (who total about 10k across my various social media) meet you, here’s the link for general guidelines:

    1. Thank you so much for the invitation, da-AL! 🙂 I will definitely look into this when I return to blogging activities. Much appreciated! 🌹

  2. I love the Iron Man song. I was a fan of the Iron Man comics from the 1960s when I was growing up. (In fact, I loved most of the superhero comics, both DC and Marvel) but strangely, I have only seen one of the many superhero movies. Loved both your sunrise photos. Your two Stark light photos (color and black and white edit) got me to thinking – I grew up with B&W photography but l appreciate B&W more and more as I age – I liked the B&W edit of the Festive Lights better, for some reason. 1. Yes, the Iron Man song is a classic! 🙂 I wasn’t into Marvel as a kid, preferring the DC Comics universe, but I have seen all the Iron Man films, as I love Robert Downey Jr. I’m glad you liked the photos Alana, and I get why you preferred the black and white lights image. Its starkness emphasizes more detail. Thanks for coming by!

  3. My favorite part in the Marvel movies is when Stan Lee did the cameo as a postman and asked him, “Are you Tony STANK?”

  4. Interesting music theme! The songs from Iron Man I recognized but the other two are introductions. The stark winter is such a contrast to a vibrant, sunny days of spring or summer. Hopefully, signs of seasonal change will be visible in your part of Canada. I’m really anxious for the earth’s rebirth. Thanks for joining the 4M party this week, Debbie. Have a boogietastic week! xo

    1. I went off on a tangent, Cathy! 😆 This was fun to put together and I’m glad you enjoyed it. Those two German songs were also new to me. Like you, I am eager for earth’s rebirth. We are mighty sick of this dreariness and cold! Thank you for hosting the 4M party. Hope you have a great week as well. 🙂

  5. Hey…

I must say, you have the most amazing front page! How did you manage to get multiple images showing like that? Like a moving gallery or whatever it’s called? I love it!

Your theme is cool but I had trouble navigating and finding individual posts. I kept being sent back to the category pages, but I think it’s my browser’s fault. It has been very buggy lately.

I saw a post where you visited someplace and it was a really old car in it, and I wanted to say that I really love the photo of that car! I’m such a fan of old things and that car sure brung back some memories for me ❤️

    1. Thank you, FP. 🙂 That is called a slider. I use a professional theme called “Sydney Pro” and it has all kinds of cool toys. To find my individual posts, click on BLOG in the top menu (once you get there, scroll down past the featured posts and categories to find the latest posts), but the front page also shows the most recent posts. Additionally, you can click on this link, which is a simple page showing all posts. It is found on the BLOG sub-menu: https://thedogladysden.com/hot-off-the-press/

Hmm, thinking about the old car, was it the Ford Model T found here? https://thedogladysden.com/circling-lake-ontario-roadtrip-part-iii/

Thank you for coming by today! Lovely to make a new blogging connection. 🌹 Cheers!

      1. Oh, good to know! I got inspired by your theme and so I created a slider myself on my front page. It’s not as good as yours, though 😂 but good enough at least.

Yes! That was the post 😍. Thanks!

  6. I like that Ich Ich – there’s a few singers I like that constantly seem to tour Germany. And Alle Farben is one of my fav Djs…so while I have very limited German, I feel quite connected as it’s always popping up on my Insta. (Also Cathy, if you see this, I can’t comment on your post – I LOVED the Andrew Sisters growing up, so that was quite fun for me!) #MondayMusicMovesMe

  7. You have a variety of stark images Debbie and I like how you presented the seasons and the sunrises especially – what a contrast between the two. I like the stark contrast between the Christmas lights as well. How fun that you were able to use the German word stark in this post as well. I do not know of Tony Stark though.

    1. Yes, I wanted to do something different and get away from the bleakness of winter. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the presentation, Linda! Tony Stark is a comic book character. I was never into Marvel comics as a kid, but I did like the Iron Man movies (and the music).

      1. I did enjoy the multimedia presentation Debbie. I am finding lots of pop culture that I never knew about. I can’t say if I read comic books, but I know I saw the comics in the Sunday Funnies like “Blondie”, “Nancy”, “Dennis the Menace” – Peanuts came later on. I’ve never seen Iron Man movies or music.

  8. Nicely done, Debbie, even incorporating some German music. While in the ’80s and ’90s, I frequently listened to Deutsch Rock and Deutsch Pop, nowadays, I’m generally not up to speed on the German (language) music scene.

    1. Thanks, Christian! 🙂 (You were stuck in moderation again. 😆) I don’t normally listen to much German music these days either, and those songs are new discoveries. Not bad, eh? German rock band Scorpions is a favourite, as well as Steppenwolf, whose two founding members, John Kay (Joachim Krauledadt) and Nick St. Nicholas (Klaus Karl Kassbaum) are German.

      1. Yes to both, Steppenwolf and Scorpions. 🙂

I also like a number of German-singing acts like BAP, Westernhagen, Wolf Maahn, Udo Lindenberg and Herbert Groenemeyer and listened to them a lot during my teenage years and ’20s while still living in Germany. 🙂

  9. You hit all the meanings of stark in fun and clever ways, Debbie! I knew stark means strong in German. Makes sense for Tony Stark. 🙂 Love the stark contrast from winter to spring–seems like our worlds are the same here! I love that Toronto sunrise! Thanks, my friend, for sharing for Sunday Stills and have a wonderful week!
