Debbie, I wonder how many of us can say we are “in the pink” these days … not only is the gray-and-gloomy weather dragging us down, but the state of the world is pretty bleak right now. Even rose-colored glasses don’t make life better unfortunately. Your flowers are beautiful, how thoughtful of hubby and I like your rose-colored glasses!
True, the rose-coloured glasses attitude isn’t working too well these days. ๐ This is our worst winter in a long time, plus all the bullshit flowing north from you-know-who is stressing everybody out. That said, hubby’s flowers are always a mood-brightener! ๐
I once wrote a post talking about rose-colored glasses too. It was at Council Point Park awhile back and someone (likely gang related) brought in spray paint one night and decorated the cement ledge, trees, the walking path and there is a rink there on the other side of the park. It was once for roller skating but is now so full of graffiti, which the Park used to whitewash and now just leaves it because as soon as the paint dried, the graffiti was back and worse than before. I wish I wasn’t spending so much time reading and listening to the news … I’m conflicted between not wanting to know, yet feeling I should.
Graffiti over everything looks so grungy! Last time we went to Europe, I was shocked to see it there as well. It never used to be. ๐ซ
As much as I’d like to, I can’t tear myself away from the news. Each day there’s something new and disturbing! I’d rather know what’s happening, depressing as it is.
Why do people do this Debbie? Ours is gang related mostly, so it is a lot of signs and symbols. I guess Europe is changing, not for the better, sadly. I turned off the news feed at MSN to calm my mind. But, like you, I want to know too and I do not have TV, so I get all my news on the all-news AM radio station and from X. I follow a lot of the news reporters on X so I can see what they report on and also I see the various TV stations’ news reports on YouTube. I know there can be overload, so I shut off the feed. (For now anyway.)
Some graffiti is very artistic, but the gang-related stuff, not so much. Thankfully, most of it is confined to the big city here. Our town is vigilant about removing any as quickly as possible. Taking a break from the news is an excellent idea. Wish I could, but I’m addicted, it seems. ๐
Well I am still on “X” because, like you, I still need to know and am addicted. I found MSN just too cluttered and I could not Google anything without 10 articles about said thing coming back every day which was crazy. So I turned it all off.
You always find something appropriate for every challenge, and this was a great selection!
Best wishes, Pete.
I try, Pete! Glad you enjoyed the selection. ๐ I’m needing those rose-coloured glasses more and more each day! ๐คฏ Be glad you don’t live in North America right now.
Very true Debbie, it seems we need rose coloured glasses at the moment! Great fun shots.

Yes, and needing them more and more every day! ๐คฏ Thanks for coming by, Deb. ๐
Loved the rose coloured glasses. ๐
Thanks, Deb! ๐ Needing those more and more nowadays. ๐ฅบ
No kidding! I’m looking forward to wearing sunglasses all day in Mexico. ๐
Funny how it works: I start scrolling, thinking, “Red just ain’t my color.” Then, I thought, yeah, but rosy red means spring”, and that’s just when I hit the “Desperately wishing” section.
Many of us are “desperately wishing”, Chris! It’s snowing yet again…
I’m so ready for spring too. We went to a town nearby and the orchards had blossoms on the almond trees. Made me smile.
Have a fabulous day and week, Debbie. Hugs. โฅ
How lovely to see spring blossoms, Sandee! ๐ We are experiencing another snowfall, here. ๐ฅถ Thanks for coming by!
Well, from my phone, I clicked “like” and I was sent to google, LOL. I’m commenting from my desktop now. Your site looks good! This is a fun post and I love the Valentine’s Day florals, Debbie! And wow, your collection of rose-colored glasses pics, way to rock ’em! I love your “hurry-up spring” pics (I love dogwoods, which grow in abundance here). Its’ a whopping 1 degree F here! Have a great week!
Good grief! Will these glitches ever end? ๐ Thanks for persevering, Terri! Glad you enjoyed the post. ๐ This winter has been one of the worst in recent years, and we’re all sick of it. ๐ซ That said, 1 degree F is brutal! ๐ฅถ We had that a while ago, but now it’s “warmed up” to 23F (feeling like 11F with the windchill, which is ever-present.) Keep warm!
Very pretty! ๐ and fancy glasses!
Thank you, Laura! ๐ ๐ถ๏ธ
Yes you need rose colored glasses sometimes, so you can see life in rose like Edith Piaf sang
Especially now, Thomas! ๐ซ That was a good song. I’ll share it here:
