Terri Webster Schrandt‘s blogfest theme this week is
WAITING FOR PEACE

Sadly, I think it’s going to be a long wait! 😢

Still, this is the season for “peace on earth and good will to all”,
a concept I embrace whole-heartedly, while seeking personal peaceful pursuits.

PEACEFUL DOGS

Dogs with good homes in stable countries lead tranquil lives. Eat, sleep, play, love. 😃 Our rescue girl, Zoey (whose early life was traumatic), and former house guests, in various forms of repose. Heartwarming! 💖

PEACEFUL LANDSCAPES

Communing with nature has always been a way for me to relieve stress and restore tranquility.

PEACE FOR UKRAINE

In 2022, Klaus Meine, lead singer of German rock band Scorpions,
changed some of the lyrics to his iconic song, “Wind of Change”, in support of Ukraine.

PEACE FOR THE MIDDLE EAST, PLEASE!

Watching the devastation of war on the nightly news fills one with despair for the world.
We must never give up hope! Surely, this can’t go on? 😢

  1. Beautiful photos, Debbie, and I love the pic of Hershey, Daisy, and Joey napping. World peace seems to be evasive more so than ever.

Wishing you a lovely and peaceful holiday season. 🤍

    1. Thanks, Eugi! 🙂 Sleeping dogs are adorable, aren’t they? Sadly, I doubt that world peace will ever be achieved.

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

  2. Peaceful dogs sleeping, beautiful peaceful scenery, and then two hotspots of war. All existing on the same planet, engineered by the same human race. What type of being are we humans? Here, Ukraine seems to have totally dropped off the radar here in the States. Every day, the situation in the Middle East gets more and more awful, too. It’s way beyond words. I know a number of people who have been visited Israel, some many times, and one of my husband’s cousins was supposed to go, on a church tour the weekend after October 7, and it’s hit me in many ways. You’d think the Internet would have brought us all together, but it’s just the opposite, it seems.

    1. Two extremes, for sure! Although the war in the Middle East is dominating headlines (and horrifying all of us!), we still get news of Ukraine here. Disheartening that this conflict has been going on for almost two years! I hope the Israel-Hamas war will end sooner than that. Thanks for coming by, Alana!

  3. I get a chance, I’ll have to listen to that Scorp’s song… tied up in Bible chat rn…

  4. Beautiful images of peace found in sleeping dogs, Debbie! Heartwarming for sure, especially when one or more were rescued and can now have some peace. As for our world, it is broken and fallen, and we can find our own inner peace with photography and caring for our furbabies as you have done so well. Thank you for your continued support of Sunday Stills and such awesome posts!

    1. Thank you so much, Terri, for the compliment, and for providing this fabulous photo-sharing opportunity! 💖 Dogs and photography are wonderful stress relievers. 🙂 Although I’m not religious, the gist of the serenity prayer makes a good mantra!
