#MusicMonday; BLUES ROCK

Welcome to

♫ Music Monday ♫

animated band

This week’s feature is Blues Rock.

“Blues rock is a musical genre combining bluesy improvisations over the twelve bar blues and extended boogie jams with rock and roll styles.”

– from Wikipedia

Many artists perform in this genre and today, I would like to share some of my lesser known favourites:

Julian Sas

Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa

Fabulous together and also separately!

Most of you know Fleetwood Mac as that wildly popular band from the 70s, featuring Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie, but, back in the late 60s, it was led by Peter Green and heavily into Blues Rock.

What are your thoughts about Blues Rock?

  1. I only knew Fleetwood Mac and I LOVE them but it was very cool to be introduced to the other ones!

    1. Glad you enjoyed this week’s post, Corina. 🙂 Yes, that is my favourite incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, actually. The 70s version is more “pop” and these guys were more “rock” and “blues”, which I really love. I was around when they were, (and living in Europe), so I remember. This is what happens when you get old. LOL Thanks for visiting and sharing the post too.

  2. Hi Debbie, Enjoyed your Blues Monday songs. Your trip to Greece and Italy is something great for you to look forward to ~ we just got home last night from Arizona where we had fun in the sun for almost two weeks while visiting relatives. Guess if we ever do Greece, Germany and Ireland, we will need to forgo all the small trips and save for the big one like you! Happy Earth Day to you and yours 🙂
