Welcome back to #BOTB!
Time to announce the results of the Nov. 15th showdown.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS (BOTB), hosted by StMcC Presents Battle of the Bands is where you listen to different recordings of the same song and vote for the one you like best. Two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th. Votes will be tallied and posted the following week.
♫ Tribute to a great artist ♫
This was probably the most decisive battle, so far! Most of you favoured one over the other. My choice was the less popular one, although I liked them both. Here’s how it played out:
AVALANCHE
Arlee, Birgit, C.W. Martin, Cathy, Cherdo, Diedre, Jeffrey, Mary, Myke, Robin, Stephen
Total: 11
~~~~~~~~
SING ANOTHER SONG, BOYS
Debbie, John, Michele
Total: 03
Like Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen as a vocalist isn’t everyone’s taste, but his brilliance can’t be denied. His material has been covered by many and he will be missed!
The winner is:
AVALANCHE
by a whopping 8 votes!
Yes, decisive victory.
Well, don’t worry about choosing the less popular one. We all do that from time to time.
Yep, this was Blowout City, DEBBIE. Well, as they say, “Blowouts gonna blowout”. (I know, I know. But stream o’ consciousness writin’ don’t need to make sense.) I had a 6-vote margin blowout this time muhse’f. Stuffs happens.
See ya on 12/1 for “The Further Adventures Of BOTB”.
Debbie, thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes. This year will be especially nice with the good news of DH’s job. We have much to be thankful for and give God all praises for this blessing. I picked the winning song. Yay! Leonard Cohen had a unique voice. Unfortunately, it’s not the kind I like to listen to very much, though. May he RIP! Thanks for sharing the results with us, my friend and have a good week!
Cohen was simply one of a kind. A true artist. You don’t have many of those these days. You have artists but no one who stands out like Cohen or like Bob Dylan.
Shalom aleichem,
Pat
He and Johnny Cash always sang just off the key enough to set off an interesting emotional reaction.
He will be missed and he always reminded me of the troubadours that would travel around during the Middle Ages
I’m so surprised that more people didn’t go with the second song. At least that song got three of our votes, yours, mine and John’s.
Thanks for turning me on to Leonard Cohen. He does remind me of Bob Dylan…
Have a great week Debbie.
Running behind on this one, but sounds like an interesting battle
Well that was decisive! But a good song.
It was hard to choose, but I’m glad that I chose the winning one. His musical presence will be greatly missed.
