LEAVES:

Last fall, we spent an afternoon driving around, taking photos of the glorious autumn leaves.
Even more enjoyable to see, now that we’re in the throes of winter.

  1. Debbie… loving your pictures. You know I love all images Canadian… Sorry so late to comment. My smart phone will not sync up with your posting requirements. Not a problem. I will just go find a real computer when I see you have posted, in the future.Have a great week upcoming… Myke Todd

    1. I’m not sure what you mean by your smart phone won’t sync up, Myke. I have a plug in that’s supposed to make the site mobile friendly and it seems okay in some of the simulators I tried. Could you tell me specifically what doesn’t work? Maybe I need to use a different plug in. Sorry you had a problem. 🙁 First time, I hope.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the photos, Lee. That’s true about California (I’ve been there many times, visiting my parents), but on the other hand, you have 75 degrees and sunny and we have blizzards and sub zero. Be happy to trade! 😀

  2. Thank you for the reminder of fall. I loved your pictures, especially the first one (but how did you get that purple?) Trees do turn color in upstate New York – sometimes spectacular color, but always there is something to see and a standout tree of the year. In 2014 the standout was the Japanese Maple. Fall, to me, is nature’s apology for what it is about to do to us with winter. But then, come March, is the promise of spring and a start of a new cycle.

    1. Glad you enjoyed the photos, Alana. 🙂 I think the deep burgundy of the leaves wrapped around the trunk are giving the tree that purplish caste, plus I didn’t use the flash, so it may be a bit dark. We don’t have too many Japanese maples, but the ones I’ve seen are gorgeous in the fall. Nature’s apology, you say? I like that! 🙂 Yes – there is much to apologize for, especially this winter!

    1. It’s a Canon Powershot, Carol. I’m not that great at photography, so I just keep it on automatic. Gotta love modern technology! 🙂 It was a good year for fall colours – better than usual.

  3. Love those photos Debbie! The first photo looks surreal with the purple tree though! Was it really that colour?! Autumns in Ontario, especially northern Ontario are so beautiful, aren’t they? Glad you got to enjoy the exquisite colours of fall. 🙂 <3

    1. Purple tree? I hadn’t noticed that, Elly, but the leaves wrapped around it are a deep burgundy. Depending on the light, it does seem to have a bit of a purple caste to it. Cool! 🙂 If I remember correctly, that one was taken later in the day and perhaps came out a bit darker – no flash. We’re actually in southern Ontario. It was a good year for fall colours, apparently. I’ve been up north too and those are usually even more spectacular.

  4. Now those, are some gorgeous photos Debbie! Someday I sooooo want to drive up the northeast coast of the U.S. to see the leaves when they turn. I hope you have a wonderful weekend, my dear! 🙂

    1. It is a beautiful sight, Mike and well worth the trip! What comes after is not so pleasant and I’d just as soon skip winter. Hope you had a nice weekend. Cheers!

    1. I would miss it too, Michele, (but not what comes after!) Maybe you should try to come back for a visit next fall? Just a thought…..Glad you enjoyed the photos.

    1. Yes, autumn is gorgeous here and sometimes, the temperatures aren’t too bad either. Nothing like a beautiful, sunny day for strolling about and admiring nature. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the photos, Corinne.
