Terri Webster Schrandtβ€˜blogfest theme this week is:

LEAVES AND TREES

We have little in the way of fall colours so far, and I’ve already used last season’s photos in recent posts, so, let’s go back a few years earlier…

  1. Your photos make me miss Maryland even more than I usually do. I thought about moving back there when I got divorced, but I didn’t want to go there alone, especially when I can’t have the house I designed that we had built there. I wouldn’t be able to afford to build another house. Now here I sit in Florida waiting for Hurricane Milton.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. I’m sorry you lost your designer house, Janie! πŸ™ But, I was glad to know that Milton didn’t cause you too much grief. Thanks for checking out my photos.

  2. The foliage in these pictures are stunning Debbie – in some photos, the colors are almost surreal because they are so colorful. The very first photo on the left, the green tree in in the forefront is thinking “when it is MY turn?”

    1. Yes, we have had some excellent years for fall colours, but there’s not much going on this season, so far. That willow was a little slow. πŸ˜†

    1. Thank you, Thomas! πŸ™‚ We had a couple of excellent years for fall colours but so far, this season has been boring. Most leaves are still green, because it’s been warm until now. I can imagine your tropical climate doesn’t produce many coloured leaves.

      1. Yes you are right but we are in the subtropical zone, or if you want to specific, Dallas is in the humid subtropical zone. You in Toronto are in the temperate zone but pretty close to the subpolar zone (according to the map).

        1. You’re the expert. πŸ™‚ I’ll Google that map. I live in the southwestern suburbs of Toronto, an area known as “Carolinian Canada” and sometimes even “The Banana Belt”, because it’s generally milder than most other areas of Canada (except southern British Columbia).

  3. This is a beautiful gallery of stunning fall foliage, Debbie! I never regret keeping old pics in my files to view again. I’m just now listening to our weather caster talking about our warmer than normal weather nationwide. Trees still making chlorophyll due to sunlight so the colors are delayed. Autumn is just around the corner! πŸ‚πŸ
