Every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon, we went downtown for gym class, after which we were allowed to go shopping at a giant department store. This is where I discovered the tastes of genuine Swiss Joghurt (yogurt) and Apfel Wein (apple wine). Loved the former, but, the latter didn’t impress me much. My friends all thought it was cool to sip it through a straw and get tipsy. (More about this later.) Had no effect on me, much to my disappointment.

Memories via music are always a smile inducer, Debbie, they’re held so firmly in place… Great story my friend, and well written … xPenx
Thanks Pen! 🙂 Glad you enjoyed my story and yes, every song I know has a specific memory attached. I really appreciate your taking the time to read my memoir. Cheers!
Germans are quite strong creatures when it comes to alcohol of any kind….I have my own experiences….would be expensive for any person to try to make me drunk. I seem to have a hole somewhere, where the drinks just run through….Apfelwein would have done nothing for me either…. ♥ Karin
Germans AND Italians, it seems. LOL My husband and I are also “expensive” that way and have similar holes. Apfelwein is pretty much no stronger than Apfelsaft (juice), to me. PROST! ZUM WOHL! 😀
Prost, Debbie! Also to your husband!
Drinking through straws is supposed to make one fresh in no time but I guess it works faster on some than others, hey you certainly were a wicked girl back then, sneaking out and having fun (sounds a great idea actually but then I am a tad wicked too 🙂 ) This is a really good third part to your story and it has been worth the wai I can tell you 🙂
BTW – HAPPY THANKSGIVING DEBBIE 🙂 😉
I hope that your weekend is full of wickedly
enjoyable moments, and I know the party
extends to Monday but the weekends are
always the best 🙂
Andro xxx
The straw trick never worked for me and I found that I have a bit of a “hollow leg” when it comes to booze. LOL Yeah; we were so wicked! 😉 Glad you enjoyed the third chapter, Andro and thanks for the good wishes. More to come and I promise it will be sooner than the last instalment. Have a great week!
Great story! sounds like a real adventure….. just a wee bit jealous :))
Thanks for reading, Linda and I’m glad you liked it! 🙂 It was just my particular circumstances at the time. Bet you’ve done some stuff I would envy, too.
Deb, I love following this saga……very entertaining, and you have quite a way in relating the details. Waiting for Chapter 4.
Thank you G, for your interest and kind words. Makes my day to read such a critique! Inspires me to continue….:-)
