Hilary at Feeling Beachie

This week’s co-host: Uttley from Uttley’s Take.

The premise is simple; just fill in the blanks.

This week’s statements:

1. I hate __
2. I used to love playing _____ as a kid
3. Common sense says ______, but I tend to ____________
4. Once, I was surprised to find myself __________________.

Answers:

1. I hate it when somebody tells me I can’t do something.  My response: “Just watch me!!”

2. I used to love playing “Cowboys and Indians” as a kid.  Even had an official Dale Evans cowgirl outfit, complete with broomstick horsie.

3. Common sense says I should be more frugal, but I tend to “go for the gusto”.  Life is short!

Life is short, so do what makes you happy. Be with those who make you smile. Laugh as much as you breathe, and love as long as you live… -Rachel Nunes

 4. Once, I was surprised to find myself getting married in a Catholic church.  I’m not religious and wanted to do it at City Hall, but my Italian hubby insisted.  He’s not really religious either but wanted to appease his family, who didn’t like me at all.  We’ll be celebrating our 40th anniversary this year.

  1. I love that quote. It’s just beautiful… Bet number 4 wasn’t easy for you but obviously well worth it!!! Schoenes Wochenende!!! 🙂

    1. Hi Susi; Yes, # 4 was definitely difficult. In hindsight, I should have stuck to my guns, because it was very hypocritical, but, “all’s well that ends well”, as they say. 🙂

  2. Mom was talking to gramma the other day about how kids used to play cowboys and indians and how they don’t anymore because for one, they aren’t supposed to play with guns and two it would be discriminatory against indians. How times have changed and she says it was all just fun, no harm done and not disrespect either but it is no more. I wonder if dog hunting wabbit will go out of style some day???

    1. Hi Emma; Yes sadly, the things we used to love doing as kids are now considered “politically incorrect”. As you said, it was all innocent good fun, with no malice at all. Society has become too over-sensitive, in my opinion. Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend. Hope you get some spring weather soon!

  3. We could have had such fun playing cowboys together when we were kids. I had the official Roy Rogers outfit and a broomstick horse. Actually I had those in every color! And my husband always says the fastest way to get me to do anything is to tell me I can’t. Happy 40!!!

  4. HI here Debbie, I hate saying goodbye to anyone.., takes me ages on the phone… I used to love playing Backgammon, but the App on Windows 8 is so, so different,… Common sense says I should save, but I tend to spend my money… and I was very surprised to find myself joining Twitter, ‘cos I always said I wouldn’t 😉 Enjoyed reading your answers too… Have a great weekend my friend. xPenx

    1. Thanks for playing along, Pen. I’m with you on # 3 and I always said I wouldn’t join Twitter either. Whole different story, now! LOL You have a great weekend too. 🙂

  5. I’m with the others, I don’t like being told I can’t do something, it fires me up and challenges me to prove ’em wrong!

As a kid loved playing kickball but today you can’t get me to run to my car in the rain LOL 🙂

Great fill in the blanks…have a great weekend Debbie!

  6. You know, Debbie, I cannot pick a single one of your four answers that stands out – I love them all! And relate to them all!

  7. Hi!

Thanks for your lovely comment and follow. I’m doing the same. 🙂

I’m with you on number 1. I hate it when people try to discourage others in their dreams. Unless it’s something that could hurt someone, you should really try being a good friend and be encouraging.

    1. You’re welcome, Anna. 🙂 Well. I agree with that, but, also meant it in the context of someone trying to control me. Really gets my back up! Have a good weekend. 🙂

  8. We are also celebrating 40 years of marriage this year. I had the big wedding as well since I was the first to get married. Did you have a “Trousseau Tea”?

    1. Hi Judy; It seems surreal to me that 40 years have passed already! Do you feel that way too? Congratulations! I’m not familiar with “Trousseau Tea”. Is that anything like a bridal shower? I did have one of those, but, it was nothing fancy. Have a good weekend. 🙂
