Terri Webster Schrandt‘s blogfest theme this week is:
🌚 E E R I E 🌚
What’s spookier than a bleak, nocturnal landscape?
How about one with a full moon that brings out the lunatics?
😈
(Derived from the Latin word, lunaticus, meaning “of the moon” or “moonstruck”.)

Very cool. Love them.
Thank you, Patrick! 🙂
Great songs and I love all of those images. Very nice.
Glad you enjoyed them! 🙂
THese were fabulous choices and definitely fit with the theme.
Thank you so much, Kirstin! 🙂 I liked yours as well. Terri picks some excellent themes.
Eerie skies and I do love Donovan
Yes, and likewise, Carol! 🙂 Donovan had some great songs.
I liked your spooky pictures and much of your playlist. I was also wondering if you used a filter for the spooky pictures. I knew two of the songs (Season of the Witch and Bark at the Moon) and my favorite of the ones I didn’t know was the Tea Party song, followed by Iron Maiden. Incidentally, the Iron Maiden video isn’t available for me so maybe it doesn’t play in the United States. Hate when that happens! Here’s a link that did work for me. https://youtu.be/NmQN635Rheo?si=CRwwztJFr85K5wt_
Thanks, Alana! 🙂 I generally don’t use filters, but play with the individual settings, like contrast, saturation, etc. Thanks for letting me know about the Iron Maiden video! I should have run these through the YouTube region checker, but was too lazy. I have changed the URL in the playlist. The Tea Party is a favourite band, but not generally known in the U.S. Their name might have something to do with that! 😆
Debbie, those are some great moon shots and spooky shots (present company excluded). I haven’t heard “Season of the Witch” in forever!
Thank you, Linda! 🙂 The full moon is perfect as a spooky subject. “Season of the Witch” is an old favourite.
Beautiful shots and beautiful you.
Have a fabulous day and week, Debbie. Big hug. ♥
Aw, thanks! 🙂 That was an accidental selfie. (I didn’t realize the camera was facing me). Surprising it turned out that well!
Really cool shots of the moon. Any number of those pictures would make terrific book or album covers!

Thank you, Stephen! 🙂 A couple of others had a similar comment.
Love, I mean, love your photos!! You captured the eerie quality of the moon and the night. Your music is not what I normally listen to but I enjoyed it especially the homage to Dwight Frye. A neglected character actor from many monster films and who died too young. I’d love to have a chat with Alice Cooper. He is very intelligent and knows his movies plus so much more.
Thank you so much, Birgit! 💖 It’s interesting that Alice chose Dwight Frye as a subject. He’s obviously a horror movie fan. 🙂 Have you seen the documentary about his life? It’s a Canadian production and available online:

The first moon image is really nice. I love the effect! Did you use a filter? The night sky is beautifully interesting to photograph. Excellent playlist!
Thanks, Cathy! 🙂 Not a filter, but I did increase the contrast. This is the original photo:
What beautiful moonlight photos, Debbie!
Love,
Janie
Thank you, Janie! 🙂 My camera has a decent zoom lens.
Nice pics! 🙂
Thanks! The full moon is perfect for the prompt. 🙂
Great moon photos and spooky photos
Thank you, Thomas! 🙂 A full moon always looks eerie.
These images make great writing prompts.
Yes, or book covers, as someone else mentioned! 🙂 “It was a dark and stormy night” 😀
Wow, your moon shots have that eerie appeal, Debbie! But that dark cloud over Toronto looks beyond eerie, downright scary. I’m assuming it didn’t amount to anything bad! Your selection of music looks good! Years ago I bought a cd with scary music, mostly shorts. I played it on our porch on Halloween night and scared a few trick or theaters!
Thanks, Terri. That dark cloud over Toronto was pre-dawn and the zoom lens added to the effect. It dissipated soon after the sun came out. 🙂 Glad you enjoyed the music!
Good choices for the challenge, Debbie. Some of those would make great book covers for scary novels!
Best wishes, Pete.
Thank you, Pete! 🙂 There’s always something eerie about a full moon…
