Now that the April Blogging marathon, known as the A to Z Challenge is finished,
things will be getting back to normal, whatever that is.
Here’s what you can look forward to:

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE DEN – MAY AND BEYOND Share on XWHAT TO EXPECT AT THE DOGLADY’S DEN – MAY AND BEYOND: See what’s coming up![/tweetthis]
Starting on May 15, The Den will be offering a new, interactive feature:
From creator Stephen McCarthy:
‘BATTLE OF THE BANDS’ (‘BOTB’) is where you listen to different recordings
of the same song and vote for the one you like best. Two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th.
Votes will be tallied the following week. Tune in on May 15 for all the details!
~~~~~~
Do you like action movies, TV shows and books full of havoc. mayhem and cleavage? 😀
Think Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, Robert Rodriguez (movie directors), for example.
Come on over and join the party on May 18!
Hosted by Alex J. Cavanaugh and Heather Gardner
You can enter any time between now and then, by adding your blog’s URL to the Linky List HERE . On May 18, write about a movie, television show, book, (or all three) that falls into the category of Blood, Boobs, and Carnage (or just Blood and Carnage or another mixture). It can be any genre that fits the bill – fantasy, science fiction, action, adventure, western, thriller, etc. Don’t forget to add the badge to your post and engage with the other participants. Please link back to the hosts as well. If you’re not a blogger, just check it out for the sheer entertainment value. Should be a blast! I promise you won’t be bored.
~~~~~~
In a similar vein, get ready for the beach, June 8 to 12!
Write about a movie involving the beach or seaside, from any era and any genre.
(Doesn’t have to be a “beach party” movie.)
Sign up HERE with your choice(s) and blog info.
(It’s okay if more than one person chooses the same movie(s).)
Add one of the banners shown to your post and publish any day between June 8 and 12.
Hosted by Ruth of Silver Screenings and Kristina of Speakeasy.
KOWABUNGA!

For now, I’m taking a little break. April was intense and I’m still trying to catch up with all the visitors.
See you on May 15!
Tell me what you think of all this. Will it keep you coming back?
Is there anything specific you’d like to see more of? Less of? In addition to? Instead of?
Looking forward to your comments!

Battle of the Bands sounds exciting – I’ve been thinking on and off about doing a post with some of my favorite songs that have been covered by multiple bands. I am also a fan of Jingle Jangle Jungle and look forward to your guest post there – too bad it won’t be until September.
HI Alana; The BOTB post is live now. 🙂 It’s going to be a bi-monthly feature here. Lots of people want to guest post at Jingle Jangle Jungle, so it’s booked up quite far in advance. That’s okay; I appreciate the lead time. Thanks for visiting.
You’ve got a lot of fun stuff coming up on your blog. I hope you have a blast with all of them! 🙂

Welcome to The Den, Chrys. Yes, there’s lots happening around here. 🙂 Hope you get a chance to check some of it out. Thanks for dropping by today. Cheers!
You better get to restin’. You have a busy schedule. I’ll check all of it out God willing.
I saw the music ones and thought, I am so dumb in that area. I have to be careful, or I’ll create half-assed hobby out of it all. Then I thought, I’ve had so many hobbies like that, what’s the danger.
It all sounds good.
Yes, I often join these recurrent blog themes then find myself participating erratically. My love of music should keep me going with BOTB, at least. 🙂 Thanks, Ann.
Wow! That’s some super exciting stuff coming up..Let me think of something 🙂 🙂
Thanks, Parul. 🙂 I like to wander far afield, sometimes.
I must admit the Creative Writing linkup is the one that fascinates me the most, Debbie 🙂 Looks like you have a busy few months ahead in the blogging space 🙂 Lovely!
Hi Shailaja; 🙂 I’m mostly a non-fiction writer, but the muse hits me every now and then. I like to wander far afield in the Blogosphere. Never know what or who you might find.
The one that really intrigues me the most is Battle of the Bands: that sounds like fun! 😉 Not sure about the others though maybe the beach one. 😉 Have fun in the sun till then Debbie! 😉 <3
Hi Elly. It seems that Battle of the Bands is pretty popular. Hope to see you there. 🙂
Enjoy a bit of a break after a very busy month! Looking forward to what’s to come.
Thanks, Laurel. 🙂 I don’t know how you keep up that daily blogging pace. One month was more than enough for me.
All of this is compelling… I find the Battle of the Bands most interesting… I took a notion to listen to “Beautiful Dreamer” a couple of weeks back, and ended up listening to over forty different versions. Some were great, some good, some average and the rest, I did not commit to memory… Enjoy your vacation, Debbie.
It’s always fun to compare different versions of a song. 🙂 Glad you like the idea of BOTB, Myke. Hope to see you there. I’m not really “on vacation”; just not posting anything new.
Glad you’re going to start doing the Battle of the Bands posts. I’ll be combining my next BOTB with a 2 parter that will follow up with my Blood, Boobs, and Carnage pick.
I used to go to see just about all of those old beach movies when I was in JR Hi, but now I can’t remember much about any of them even considering that I’ve seen a few in the past few years on Turner Classic Movies. They are so forgettable to me so I guess I’ll bow out of that movie fest. Didn’t they all use essentially the same script?

Thanks for turning me on to BOTB and welcoming me into the fold! I’m looking forward to it. 🙂 You’ve piqued my interest about your upcoming posts.The Beach Party entry doesn’t have to be about an actual beach party movie; I think they’re silly too. You can write about any movie of any era or genre that has something to do with a beach. I chose “Dr. No”, for instance. So, what do you think? All movie choices are shown on the sign up list.
Now my mind’s at work. Let me think on this one a bit.
