Welcome to another edition of Photo Friday.

CIVILIZATION, PHOTO FRIDAY

The objective is to post your own images,
based on a prompt provided by the
Photo Friday staff.

~~~~~~
SATURATION
When I read this prompt, the first thing that sprang to mind was “saturation of colour”, which made me think of Frankenmuth, Michigan, where colourful landscaping abounds. We spent a few days there recently, for the second time in three years. Such a beautiful, Bavarian-style town!
    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos, Carol. We love Michigan! 🙂 On this trip, we also visited Ann Arbor. Such a lovely university town. The Archaeological Museum was fascinating.
  1. I’ve been to Frankenmuth many many times. It’s only 90 minutes away. But I do not think I have ever been there outside of September to December. I should visit one summer.
    1. Hi, Denise; Frankenmuth is fabulous, isn’t it? 🙂 We have yet to experience all of its winter splendours, but will be going back early in Dec. Apparently, the light displays are spectacular!
  2. What beautiful photos. They absolutely feel ‘saturated’. (Sorry it took me so long to find you. Looking forward to more posts and checking out the Photo Friday link up!)
  3. What gorgeous photos. Makes me want to grab my camera and go there! Maybe someday!
    My favorite colorful “landscape” is our local market. Gosh, so many colors, fragrances (and odors) and aromas! The sheer variety of it all is mind-boggling. Debbie I feel like a doofus – I keep missing the #FlashbackFriday! Boo hoo!
    1. It’s a beautiful town, Vidya. Glad you enjoyed the photos. 🙂 Your market sounds fascinating!
      “Flashback Friday” is on the last Friday every month. Next one is August 26th. Probably the quickest and easiest blogfest.
  4. Nothing beats the Germans when it comes to flowers and flower boxes! I would love to visit this place again and that may be on my radar…maybe even in the next year or 2. Did you find the Creche Angels mini museum? I hope it is still there. Wonderful picture and I forgot about the Pied Piper Glockenspiel. I can say I hate this weather! I walked out this morning and my sunglasses fogged right up. I am not one for heat at all since I don’t sweat so I overheat. I am waiting for rain and much cooler temps:)
    1. Hi, Birgit; Frankenmuth is definitely worth a second visit. 🙂 The only mini museum I know of is inside Bronner’s store and we bypassed that, this time. We toured the whole place in 2014 and were amazed by it all! If the weather cooperates, we want to go back in early December to see the spectacular Christmas lights all over town. They start working on them Oct. 1.
      You and I are opposites when it comes to weather. Although the humidity is a little uncomfortable, I’ll take heat over cold any day. Not being able to sweat must be bad. 🙁 We had lots of rain yesterday (finally!) and the humidity has gone down a bit.
    1. It’s gorgeous, Lee! 🙂 Rarely do we visit a place more than once, but Frankenmuth is worth the drive. We are thinking of going back in early December, to catch the Christmas lights display. Frankenmuth is home to Bronner’s, the “World’s Largest Christmas Store” and they do up the whole town.
  5. Good morning, Shady; Frankenmuth has some of the most beautiful landscaping I’ve ever seen. Then again, so does San Diego. My parents moved down there in 1974 and I’ve visited many times. ? Thanks for sharing those lovely photos! You might enjoy these posts:
    Have a great weekend, yourself, my friend. I’ll be checking out your latest post in a minute. Cheers!
    1. Hi, Shady; I finally had the chance to read your multi-part series of your trip out west. That was a fabulous travelogue and I love how you added appropriate music all through it. 🙂 isn’t it great how we can document these important memories online to be re-lived at will? Thank you for sharing your vacation with me.
  6. beautiful pictures! Indeed a saturation of color! I love color…
    Michigan must have been wonderful this time of year. I miss it. Everything is dead and dying around here in the August heat… My grass is all burnt up. 🙁
    Have a good weekend Debbie!
    1. Hi, Michele! 🙂 Frankenmuth has some of the most beautiful landscaping I’ve seen and they work around the clock to maintain it. Their water bill must be astronomical! It’s been a hot, dry summer in the northeast as well and grass is more brown than green in most places. Our front yard, which has no shade, looks terrible, but the water rates are so expensive here, I”m only keeping the flowers and bushes hydrated. Our high for today will be 108F, with the humidity. 😮
      1. Jesus, 108?!!! I didn’t realize it was that hot up there. My brother said it’s been hot in western NY, but he didn’t say anything about temps over 100. Wowsa. Global warming is no bullshit, for all those crazy folks who think it is! 🙂
        1. That’s with the humidity index. Actual temp is 90F. It’s hotter, drier and way more humid than usual. Been like that for most of the summer! That said, I hate the cold, so I won’t complain too much. 🙂 Agreed; global warming IS real! 😮
