BLUES ROCK, #MusicMonday

Welcome to

♫ Music Monday ♫

animated band

Since I’m still on a concert high, going back to the night of June 6, this week’s feature is:

THE ROLLING STONES

It was exactly 50 years ago, on June 7, 1963, that their very first single,
“Come On”, (a Chuck Berry cover), was released.

Since then, they have become the most famous rock band in the world and, despite their ages,  put on one HELLUVA great show!  I was completely blown away by their energy and enthusiasm.  One of the most memorable concerts of my life! ♥ No exaggeration!

An early favourite, from 1965:

Love the lyrics for this one:

This is beautiful ♥  “Unplugged”

They have SO many great songs, this post could go on for dozens of pages!
Instead, I’ll leave you with their last single, which came out in October 2012.

Yup; they’ve STILL got it!

Rock on, Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie! ♥

Do you like The Stones?

What was or would be YOUR most memorable concert?

Looking forward to your comments, below.

    1. It was an amazing show and worth every penny of the ridiculous cost, IMO. My husband would likely disagree. 🙂 He’s not a fan but came along anyway. Even went so far as to say they know how to put on a good show. They sure do!

  1. I heard on “Q” yesterday, that when Keith Richards was asked what he thought about the outrageous price of the tickets ($800.00??!!), he replied “that’s about right”. Glad you liked the show and good post. Peace from fellow canadian Bruce, of through the luminary lens.

    1. Nice to meet you, Bruce and welcome to The Doglady’s Den. 🙂 You didn’t leave me any link to follow, (your website URL), but I’ll see what Google has to offer. Our tickets in the “nosebleed section” cost $265.00 each. We couldn’t afford the better seats. Normally, that price would get you fairly close to the stage! 😛 I have never had the chance to see The Stones live before and this was definitely on my bucket list. It was a fantastic show and there was a big screen monitor right at eye level, plus, we had binoculars. The Stones are what you’d call “Rock Royalty” and they do have very expensive staging etc., but I would agree the ticket prices were outrageous. On the other hand, it was a once in a life time experience and I loved every moment. Cheers! 🙂

    1. Yes, true. I like many other bands as well. Enjoyed your Maroon 5 selection. 🙂 Thanks for visiting and Happy Wednesday to you.

  2. Well, I’m not a fan of The Rolling Stones, but they are definitely Rock Gods. Thanks for the music & happy MM to you.

    1. You would have loved it, Joyce! 😀 One of the best concerts I’ve been to in my entire life! ♥♥ There sure was some serious discussion beforehand though, because the tickets were WAY too expensive, but the conclusion was: “Life is short” and “You Only Live Once”, so practicality was ignored and I am very glad about that. Thanks and have a good week.

  3. Never been to a Stones concert. The Beatles were kinda my favorite. Now, the Beach Boys rock!

    Have a great musical week!

    Steve

    1. I would have LOVED to see the Beatles live as well, but, that ship has sailed. 🙁 The older I get, the more I have come to really enjoy the Stones, although I was a fan early on too. Beach Boys are a little too “white bread” for my taste, (no offence, I hope), but I do enjoy some of their songs. Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

  4. Awesome pics Debbie and sooo glad you’re posting again 🙂

I’ve never seen the Rolling Stones in concert and the tickets are so expensive over here, the cheapest were $100, a little steep for me 🙂

Great songs you shared, my favorite one is I’m So Hot For You.

Love your Monday post to get my foot tappin’! Have a great week Debbie 🙂

    1. Glad you enjoyed the post Corina! 🙂 The tickets cost a bloody fortune here – $250.00 each – but, life is short and this was a “bucket list” concert, so we managed to scrounge up the money. Really way more than we could afford, but you only live once and we’re not getting any younger so……
The older I get, the more this becomes my philosophy. LOL
You have a great week too and thanks for visiting. 🙂

  5. Hi Debbie,

I can see how much you must’ve enjoyed being at the concert – these awesome pictures say it all. And you bring back old memories of the times when I used to listen to The Rolling Stones…been long, but always loved them.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead. 🙂

BTW – Nice shift of things at the blog 🙂

    1. Good day, Harleena; I had a fantastic time and sure am glad we went! Not something we could really afford, but, life is short and it was on my “Bucket List”. 🙂 I listen to Classic Rock radio and hear their music all the time. Do you not have similar stations where you live?
Yes, I did a little tinkering with the blog and I’m glad you like this better. I tried to make the content area wider, but haven’t been able to figure out the CSS code for that yet. Will keep trying though.
You have a great week too and thanks for visiting.

      1. Yes we do, though very few of them and in selected larger cities. Other places have the local radio stations playing the local songs and old numbers mostly.

It certainly is looking better, and I wish I could’ve helped you with the codes here. But I’m sure one of our tech friend’s would help out there.

        Thanks again 🙂

        1. Problem is, if I change the content width, then the sidebars have to be changed, etc. etc. Think I’ll leave it for now. It IS better; thanks for the suggestion. 🙂 I always try to figure out how to do things on my own first, but will ask someone if and when I’m stuck completely. Stubborn! LOL

  6. I’ve never held the Stones, the top of my personal chart, Debbie, but even I have to admit they’re good, … have to be to have lasted so long. And after listening to your picks above, … they’re even better than I thought!!
The younger groups today won’t last as long, for I think the magical ‘talent’ isn’t there. most of their fame comes from hype… have a great Monday my friend. xPenx

    1. Hi Penny; I agree; the bands today are all hype, no substance. Glad you liked the choices here, even though you’re not a fan, per se. They put on an incredible live show and the energy that Mick still has at his age is truly astounding! No wonder he’s so skinny. 😉 Have a great week.

  7. Brilliant, I like The Rolling Stones fab choices too my all time fave track of theirs has always been Sympathy For The Devil thanks for including it 🙂

    Have a tastic week 😉

    1. Hi Steve; I think Sympathy for the Devil is one of their greatest songs ever! It was a fantastic experience to see them live. Thanks for visiting. Rock on! 🙂
