WELCOME BACK TO BOTB!
It’s time to announce the results of the Sept. 15th showdown.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS (BOTB), hosted by StMcC Presents Battle of the Bands is where you listen to different recordings and vote for the one you like best. There are two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th. (Some of us choose one date OR the other. Mine are scheduled for the 15th only.) Votes will be tallied and posted the following week. Click HERE to view all my BOTB entries.
This one featured an iconic Irish singer-songwriter versus a duo of American blues artists, likely not quite as well-known. Some of you went with the icon, while others felt badly voting against him. All in all, a tightly-fought battle! 😎
Stephen stated: Beth tends to leave me feeling that she’s more “performing” than “feeling”. For me, it’s the opposite. When she sings, every fibre of my being tingles! Add Joe’s scorching blues guitar and that’s a combustible combination! 🔥 While there’s no questioning the incredible talent of Van Morrison, it’s Joe and Beth I’m drawn to. 💖
Here’s how it played out:
VAN MORRISON
Cathy, Eugenia, John, Mimi, Myke, Stephen
Total: 6
~~~~~~~~
BETH HART & JOE BONAMASSA
Arlee, DG Kaye, Debbie, Gilly, Mary, Roland, Mrs. Roland, Sandee
Total: 8
To the two people who left short, generic comments
(usually considered SPAM), but didn’t vote:
Thanks for coming by! Please join the party, next time.
🥂
AND THE WINNER IS,
BETH HART & JOE BONAMASSA!
👏👏👏
(Sorry, Van….and Stephen!)
Here’s a SCORCHING live performance! 🔥🔥
Yay on the winner. I had a feeling that they would take the gold.
Have a fabulous day, Debbie. ♥
That was a great battle. Congrats to the winner but I still love my Van. 🙂
Thanks!
??? Touché
If one vote had flipped, we would have had a tie. Now, that is a close contest. Well done!
This was a hard one, Debbie! Thanks for posting the results.
Loved this and the voting Deb. Glad my pick won, lol. Looking forward to the next one. 🙂
You really matched that one well. Nice Battle. Good to see that I was on the winning side.
Terrific Battle, DEBBIE! It was difficult for me to decide where to place my vote, and the 2-vote margin of victory is evidence for how close this competition was.
I probably shouldn’t say this (in case it jinxes you) but… it looks like that lengthy string of blowouts is way behind you now. You’ve put together a few really close Battles recently, if I’m recalling correctly.
Yup; this was indeed a good, close battle. Seems like the exception, though. ? My last three results were 11-3, 11-5 and 11-4. The most recent good one was in May, between Joe Bonamassa (winner) and Michael Bublé. Hmmm, maybe I should use Joe more often!
